Middle School Room Coordinators
To Learn, To Value, To Do
ללמוד, להעריך, לעשות
Room Coordinators are the main source of communication between the classroom parents and the Parent Teacher Council (PTC), as well as the link between the classroom parents and the classroom teachers, and the parent body and the school administration. Parents whose children have been at the school for at least one year are invited to volunteer, and are chosed for teh postiion by the PTC's Room Coordinator Chairs, the PTC President, administrators, and the Head of School.
Room Coordinators' responsibilities include: attending approximately 7-8 meetings over the course of a school year; disseminating information to the classroom parents either by phone, letter or e-mail; organizing a grade-level parent party/get-together at the beginning of each school year; coordinating parent volunteers for special classroom activities, events and field trips; collecting money for teacher gifts and grade expenses; and helping to welcome new families to the school.
This is a wonderful way to keep up with what is going on at school and in the classroom, and is a coveted PTC position that often has waiting lists for parents who want to be involved!
