Middle School: Athletics
To Learn, To Value, To Do
ללמוד, להעריך, לעשות
The Middle School's athletic program is designed for sixth through eighth grade students to have the opportunity to play on an interscholastic sports team.
Team sports available at the Day School:
- coed soccer (fall)
- girls’ and boys’ basketball (winter)
- girls’ softball (spring)
- boys’ interscholastic 16” softball team (spring)
- coed cross country (spring)
The philosophy of our athletics program is to instill in participants the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and cooperation. We place great emphasis on building self-esteem through positive reinforcement, developing a sense of responsibility and commitment to team, and providing opportunities for success.
The primary expectation of the students is enthusiastic participation and dedication at all practices and games. All students who wish to participate are encouraged to do so. No student is ever excluded from a team based on skill or prior experience. Coaches determine who plays and starts each game based on age, skill level, attendance and effort in practice.

The Athletic Director makes all arrangements for interscholastic games. The Day School plays teams who represent schools of similar size and who share a similar philosophy in regard to athletics.
