Derek Gale

Derek Gale is originally from suburban Kansas City and worked in a community Jewish day school (Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy) there as a journalism teacher before settling here in Chicago. Derek holds a bachelor's degree in communication from the University of Denver, a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a certificate of Jewish learning from Hebrew University. In addition, he is currently pursuing a certificate in Jewish leadership through a joint program offered by Northwestern University and Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies. Derek spent seven years as a writer and editor for newspapers and magazines before making the switch to strategic communications, marketing and PR.
