Debbie Rostami

Debbie Rostami is beginning her 38th year at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School. Debbie started here as a student teacher and was nearly heartbroken when at the end of that year, there were no positions available. But only 24 hours after shipping all of her belongings and herself back to Boston (her home), she got a call from the head of school offering her a position teaching early childhood classes and middle school Jewish studies classes. After a few years as a classroom teacher, she was selected to become head of the early childhood program. "The rest is history, and I couldn't have asked for a more rewarding career," she says. Debbie holds a bachelor's degree in education and psychology from DePaul University and a second degree from Spertus College in Jewish studies.
