BZAEDS and The Selfhelp Home, a senior living community for Jewish residents, are proud to announce the completion of the second successful intergenerational project involving BZAEDS fifth-graders...

Congratulations to the Class of 2013 and best wishes as you enter your new school communities in the fall!

Lower School students celebrated Yom Ha'Atzmaut this week by decorating a map of Israel and filling it with houses, people, trees and animals.

Congratulations to the 42 eighth-graders who starred in two incredible shows of the 2013 Morton Reisman Eighth Grade Operetta, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, this weekend. The shows were spectacular! Kudos to both the students and the many faculty members who worked long and hard on making this an amazing production!

BZAEDS fifth-graders enjoyed some fun on the field this afternoon at recess.

Our most heartfelt thanks to everyone in our community who helped Celebrate & Elevate BZAEDS at our Black and White Gala earlier this month--it was an amazing success and a marvelous example of the generosity of this community! Take a look at select photos from the evening by clicking here.

Kol HaKavod to two BZAEDS students who entered and won the Jewish National Fund's Tu B'Shevat video contest. Our students' 30-second video on what JNF means to Israel features guitar-playing and some very clever song lyrics. Thanks to these stduents, a tree will be planted in honor of BZAEDS!

The REadCycle Book Swap took place this week at BZAEDS and more than 6,000 books were swapped! All unswapped books have been donated to Reach Out and Read, a literacy initiative of the American Pediatric Association, and to a new school in Buffalo Grove for autistic children. Thank you to all those who donated books as well as swapped books for your support of this event and the seventh-grade service learning project on the environment and leadership!

BZAEDS parents and alumni should have received an email with a link to an online satisfaction survey. We are gathering information about how we're doing as a school as part of our accreditation process. This is an important opportunity to share your feedback--your response will help with our strategic planning moving forward. Thanks for helping us reach 100% parent participation!

BZAEDS is very proud to announce that Natalie Kaplan (Class of '98)'s alumna video won first prize in the expert judging category of the Jewish Day School Video Academy Awards, sponsored by The AVI CHAI Foundation. This results in a $5,000 award to BZAEDS! Kol HaKavod to Natalie and to alumni relations coordinator Erica Goldfine, who worked together to create the video and enter it into the contest. BZAEDS is thrilled to have dedicated and talented alumni like Natalie, and we appreciate the recognition from the expert judges of this contest.
