For the culmination of the senior kindergarten space unit, students visited the Adler Planetarium. This first field trip provided a great opportunity for our students to better understand, explore and interact with various aspects of space travel, as well as to see scale models of the planets they have been studying. |

BZAEDS fifth-graders recently returned from a shabbaton at Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute. Activities included Shabbat preparations, singing and dancing during a Kabbalat Shabbat service, eating tasty meals together, reading from the Torah, participating in a talent show and just hanging out and making new friends. |

Our BZAEDS bands & choirs performed recently as part of the City Hall Holiday Concert Series. Mayor Rahm Emanuel greeted and shook hands with some of our students, and the band was featured on ABC7's five o'clock news! |

BZAEDS eighth-graders recently shared their chair sculptures as part of an exhibition titled, "If You Were A Chair... " Students were asked to consider if they were a chair, what type of chair they would be. Their designs represent and reveal who they are as individuals, and will remain on display in the library after winter break. |
